Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida on the 30th of November 1977. American electro-house musician Record producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, a former wrestler, was also the co-founder of the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older brothers, Kana (sometimes known as Grace) and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister's model and actress Devon Aoki. He grew up in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995, where he was a member of the varsity badminton team. After having graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, he attended UC Santa Barbara. He was awarded two bachelor's degrees, one in feminist studies, and the other in Sociology. He made DIY recordings and also hosted underground music events in his Biko room in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative while in college. The Pickle Patch was born as a venue for concerts. He also participated in student activities at UCSB. He created a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. He had started his own record label in his 20s. It was called Dim Mak named after his childhood idol Bruce Lee. The label released I'm IN THE HOUSE in the year 2000, which was a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-alter ego of will.i.am. The track made it to No. The track was ranked the number. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart within the first week of its the release. It then entered the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 on both charts.
