Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is well-known for his sharp-witted and sly roles in action movies. Bruce Willis has been featured in over $2.5 billion dollars of films. Walter Bruce Willis was born on the 19th of March, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey) They were living at a United States military base. The family relocated to the U.S. shortly after he was born. He was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother worked in a bank and where his father was a welder as well as a factory worker. Willis was an avid drama fan in high school. While working at an New York City café, his name was "discovered". Then, he was able to be seen in a few off-Broadway productions. He was working as a bartender one night when a casting director saw his charm and approached for him to serve as an bartender in a short film. Willis tried out for a variety of roles in films, however, he wasn't given credit. He was eventually offered the role of David Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy series Moonlighting (1985). His humorous humor and wittiness as a P.I. is the highlight of his professional career. Some view it as an opportunity to practice to test Willis the role he played in Die Hard (1988), in which he was the sole defender of the gang of thieves in the top of a Los Angeles skyscraper. In the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990), Willis reprised his role as McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to get back the corrupt South American general. Strong box office results prompted an additional sequel, Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) which, this time co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as a cynical Harlem shop owner who is accidentally dragged into helping McClane in a bombing campaign on a sweltering day in New York.
